Memories

The past few days Aaron has spent time going through old photo albums to choose pictures of our family to upload to a digital picture frame for his grandparents. Needless to say, looking over pictures from the past six years has brought back plenty of great memories. Here are a few we chose to include. The beautiful beach is one of our favorites while we lived in La Maddalena, Italy for two years. We were so lucky! Most of these photos are from our time there except for the one of Aaron in his coveralls uniform (he was on board the USS Juneau in Japan) and the top one is of Sonny and I while I was on leave to visit him in San Diego (two weeks before I moved to Italy and met Aaron). =)

Family Photos

We finally took family photos with an amazing photographer this past summer named Bryon Devore. Here's just a few! Hopefully I'll get a new camera soon and I'll be much better at posting recent pics! =)

Catching up!

So I'm finally starting a blog to keep our loved ones "in the know" as far as what we are up to. =) It's hard to believe we've been here in Ashland for more than two years now! I've been out of Alaska since 2001 and finished up my time in the Navy as a broadcast journalist in 2006. During that time I met the love of my life while living in Italy, became a mommy and did quite a bit of growing up! Eliana turned four in November and is attending pre-school at the SOU campus/psychology building. She loves it and is sharing what she learns with us every day. Aaron decided to take a break from his video editing partnership, and I'm very happy about it, as his work usually took him to Virginia for weeks to months at a time! While he was gone I spent several months working for the city as an administrative assistant temp and even tried my hand as a city carrier for the Ashland post office. My motivation to work at the post office: the $20/hr pay, and that was it! Needless to say, I appreciate all of the hard work that goes into delivering the mail, but I'm not interested in ever delivering it again! =) Both Aaron and I finally decided to enroll at SOU as full-time students, and we are both majoring in communication with a focus in video production. Thanks to the credits we already had, we will both hopefully finish up school in the next year or so. From there, I'm not sure what our plans are. Aaron is interested in a government job, and we're planning on adding another little one to our family. I'm not sure if we'll stay in Ashland. Most likely Aaron's career path will take us out of the area, ideally somewhere in Northern California. We'll see. Love to you all!
